The inspiration of the designs of Dolce&Gabbana were mainly from Sicily, the birthplace of Dolce.
Tight corset, underwear wearing on top and animals' pattern plus a large number of Dark colour, especially Red and Black were used in the designs.
This was the style called 'baroque', a new grand Italy style.
It was the fashion showing gorgeous palace in Europe, therefore, Gold was also used to present it well.
How grand it was!
